Workplace Wellbeing: What does sitting actually do to the body?

Chances are you are sat down reading this, unless you happen to be on a train, in which case you are almost certainly standing up. It’s pretty much common knowledge now that sitting down for extended periods of time without moving is detrimental to the body, but do we all know why?

Physiotherapist Murat Dalkilinç, with the help of animators Oxbow Creative have put together this nifty little video which explains the physiological effects sedentary behaviour has on the body.
